Years before we built Eats & Sleeps, we stayed at the Tsitsikhaya Lodge in the sleepy town of Storms River. With our food and travel blog finally live, we returned to the Tsitsikhaya Lodge for an accommodation review, and we were not disappointed. Here’s how our experience went during our stay on 27 March 2024.
Tsitsikhaya Lodge Price & Location
We went for the Cottage with Garden View option, which set us back R1782 via Booking.com with some discounts in play for a two-person one-night stay. It was, however, worth it, as this is a full cottage experience, with a spacious interior and your own personal little garden.
Please note: Check out the Tsitsikhaya Lodge listing at Booking.com for updated prices and specials.
The Tsitsikhaya Lodge address is:
- 24 Fynbos Street
- Storms River
- 6308
- South Africa
The Tsitsikhaya Lodge is conveniently located close to the Storms River Village entrance, without being on the main road, making for a tranquil and quiet experience.
Cottage With Garden View & Parking
The cottage had it all. The kitchen is equipped with a kettle, microwave, fridge, toaster, and more. You have not one but two decks, one outside in the back with a very big coach to chill on and a little area to sit outside. Then, there’s the main entrance deck which leads from the dedicated parking area for the cottage to the main bedroom.

There’s a bathroom with a huge bath and a shower (the water pressure is excellent), alongside free toiletries, as well as slippers, a hairdryer, and bathrobes to use.

You also have a living area with a TV and more comfortable seating. It’s like a home away from home, and the whole experience was elevated by the friendly staff and a great free breakfast with as much coffee and juice as you can possibly drink in a three-hour period.
Tsitsikhaya Lodge Review Verdict
The staff at the Tsitsikhaya Lodge made us feel comfortable and welcome. We arrived about six hours before the actual check-in time to use their free Wi-Fi and work from a table in their restaurant, which they accommodated for us at no extra charge. The only negative was that a worker was busy repairing the fence close to the cottage (stopped at around 4 pm), so I couldn’t take a catnap in the afternoon.
The staff was super friendly throughout and even moved us to a better table close to power outlets to keep our laptops and other work equipment charged. It is important to note that they had no idea we were reviewing their stay. We will be back again, as the Tsitsikhaya Lodge exceeds all expectations.
