For our Comic-Con Cape Town 2024, our final accommodation in the Mother City was the Mountain Marina Luxury Apartments, situated at the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. We were excited just from the photos, especially after the fantastic treatment at O on Kloof Boutique Hotel & Spa. Here’s how our stay went down.
Price, Location, and Parking at MML Apartments
We stayed at the Mountain Marina Luxury Apartments for a total of three days, from 30 April to 2 May 2024, paying R4320 with a decent Booking.com discount for two people. We had the “One Bedroom Superior 5” accommodation, which was filled with all the essentials and a bit extra.
The parking leaves something to be desired. There’s underground parking but from the entrance, we had to drive for roughly four minutes through multiple levels. It was a bit much, and the security guard had to walk in front of us to show us to our place. Thanks for that!
The address is 7 W Quay Rd, Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, Cape Town, 8001
You can check out a map directly to the accommodation below. Thanks, Google!
Mountain Marina Luxury Apartments Experience
The only issue we had here was when we first arrived, the lady at the gate tried to tell us what to do. I mean, I tried; since she spoke so fast, it was almost impossible to hear, so much so that the security guard who walked with us to the parking also signaled it was difficult to hear what she was saying.
The parking at the front gate where you wait to get your security keycard is also incredibly small, and we saw frustrated people trying to park as the lady couldn’t sort out access fast enough while not being able to communicate anything properly.

The apartment we rented was feature-filled, with a nice-sized TV (something you don’t see often. Normally, they are small) alongside a comfortable bed and furniture. Our keys worked without issue, and we had a nice view of the water which the complexes surround.
The towels provided in the bathroom, as well as the size of the shower and the comfort of the toilet, were impressive. I really, really enjoyed taking a dump at Mountain Marina Luxury Apartments, something not many reviewers tend to discuss.

We were not bothered by the staff once, which was a breath of fresh air. Our room was a relatively big size, with everything we could need to make our own food. However, we didn’t use the kitchen, as we went out and explored the V&A Waterfront. With the prime location of the Mountain Marine Luxury Apartments, every time we went to the waterfront, we just walked!
Homeowners’ Association Headache
There’s one big problem with the Mountain Marina Luxury Apartments: the homeowners association and their crazy rules. Once you get into the apartment, you get a huge list of rules that you must follow, from where an Uber can pick you up to quiet times.
While I won’t bother going into too much detail, just know that they can penalize and bill you for just “appearing intoxicated.” Yes, you can be completely sober, but if you appear intoxicated to someone from the homeowners association, you’ll get fined a few thousand Rands…That’s ridiculous if you ask me, and that’s only one of the many rules.
Our Mountain Marina Luxury Apartments Review Verdict
Now, here comes the tough part…since the Mountain Marina Luxury Apartments complex is perfectly located and filled with features that should meet the needs of most guests. However, the homeowners association rules are not advertised until you arrive at the accommodation, and the person working at the front gate should learn how to pronounce words correctly and speak slowly.
With that being said, there is no denying that you should have a wonderful time at the Mountain Marina Luxury Apartments and won’t find anything wrong with the accommodation itself. Be warned, however, that there are VERY strict rules that might annoy you. For this reason, we give Mountain Marina Luxury Apartments a solid 7.5 out of 10.
