Salty Steak Strips Recipe & Video

->

Want to learn how you can make Salt Daddy’s (that’s what I call myself in videos) Salty Steak Strips? Then we’ve got a recipe to share. It tastes delicious. It’s a bit sticky; you’ve got a bit of salty and sweet flavor in there as well. The sauce is just Jimmy’s Special Steakhouse Sauce.

It is very popular in South Africa, but you can replace it with teriyaki or any type of meat marinade. We use cheap stir-fried cuts and 250 ml of Jimmy Steakhouse sauce. We marinated the meat for about four hours in the fridge, and then I added some sugar.

Cooking Salty & Sweet Steak Strips

I’m going to make this a quick one. After you’ve marinated, just heat up some olive oil (or peanut oil for a more neutral taste if you can afford it) in a pan and drop in the steak strips + the sauce, then stir for about seven minutes. Keep on medium heat while stirring, and be careful not to burn the sauce. Taste and add some salt, pepper, and a bit of extra paprika. We also added a bit of leftover bone marrow for a bit of extra flavor.

Keep a tiny plate handy to test a piece before removing it from the pan and into a bowl. Sprinkle on white sesame seeds because we are a bit fancy now…and then enjoy.

Check out the video showcasing the entire recipe in action below.

The salty steak strips go well with egg-fried rice, noodles, rice, or mash.
