If you want something decent to eat that’s filling, fatty, and rather tasty, then a RocoMamas joint is the way to go. Our experience in Port Elizabeth at the Baywest Mall’s RocoMamas was decent ahead of watching Deadpool & Wolverine. Here’s how things went down.
RocoMamas Baywest Experience
I had the spiciest wings on their menu, and I was left a bit disappointed. The RocoMamas spicy wings were just very, very oily, as if they used chili oil instead of regular coating. It wasn’t very spicy either, and I’m not someone who enjoys super spicy foods.
I also had a chocolate milkshake and a rather impressive bacon and cheese smash burger, which filled me up quite well for some crispy shoestring fries. The burger was juicy, and the cheese was nice and sharp, just the way I like it. However, the waiter and service staff overall weren’t too sharp.
It wasn’t a busy day or time at RocoMamas, with less than half the tables seated. However, we waited over 25 minutes for our starters and 10 minutes for our first round of drinks. The waiter was slow, both physically and mentally. Orders took forever to take, and they had to come back and ask again cause they didn’t write anything down for our drink orders.
It took nearly 35 minutes to bring us some burgers (around five or six total), and while my actual burger was good, some of my friends complained about the quality. Overall, not a great experience, but I didn’t really expect much more either way.

RocoMamas Baywest Review Verdict
I would eat at RocoMamas again just because there are a few good sit-down options in Baywest Mall if you want a decent, filling burger that won’t break the bank. The service is quite poor and slow, however, and the turnaround time for food should be MUCH faster. My burger was decent, at least, but the wings were not. I’ll try it again and see if anything has changed.
