Going for breakfast in Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha)? Then might we suggest taking a stroll (or driving, let’s face it!) to the Boardwalk Mall. You might find that the Eggs Benedict options at Doppio Zero PE are out of this world. We visited the eatery in March 2024 and walked away purring, thanks to the delicious food!
Update on 21 March 2025: We updated our Doppio Zero review to reflect the restaurant’s location and a few other details, so no kittens miss out on the experience.
Our Doppio Zero “Benni” Experience
For our first Doppio Zero review, we ordered a Vietnamese latte and orange juice. We aren’t going to pull any punches here; that took a while, roughly 14 minutes, before we got our drinks, while the establishment wasn’t all that busy. To be fair, it was freshly squeezed orange juice, but the staff were a little complacent here. Now…to the good part!
We ordered two Eggs Benedict options under the “Bennies” section of the menu, providing diners with a “half/full” portion on most of these. I got the “Haddock Benini,” while my fiance got the “Crispy Chicken Benini.”
After about 20 minutes, both the Haddock Benini and the Crispy Chicken Benini arrived together, and our jaws dropped while we started salivating uncontrollably.

The taste of these Eggs Benedict options was just incredible. My Haddock with salsa, feta, smoked paprika hollandaise, and crispy chorizo left me wanting more despite the great portion size.
My finance was equally impressed with her Crispy Chicken Benini. While I thought it was a weird combo, the Dijon mustard and honey hollandaise brought it all together beautifully.

The staff were a friendly bunch, and although our initial wait for the first round of refreshments was a bit slow, Doppio Zero more than made up for it with their delicious breakfast. We’ll be back to try more!
With a healthy tip (we always tip over 20%, FYI), four drinks, and breakfast in total, the bill was R500. Not bad at all for the great experience.
