Hello! It’s Me, Boardwalk PE Review

->

In March 2024, we went to Hello! It’s Me at the Boardwalk Mall in Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha) for the first time, as I was incredibly hungry for some good food after a few hours of gambling. Thankfully, the chef didn’t gamble with our food! Here’s how things went down!

Our First Hello! It’s Me – The Ribeye Experience

A very friendly and a bit of a funny man waiter was assigned to us as we entered Hello! It’s Me at the Boardwalk Mall. The waiter ticked all the boxes, giving us relatively fast service, always with a smile. He was informative, providing us with information on the dishes we requested. That’s great, and we thank the funny guy, but what’s most important is the food!

I just had to try the Ribeye steak with truffle-infused rocket and parmesan salad. I also picked a little sauce on the side, and picked Zucchini fries. Below, you can see the image of what came out…

Hello! It's Me Boardwalk Mall review food ribeye steak

While the Ribeye steak is a bit expensive at R285, it is huge (500g), and the waiter didn’t even mention it was a bone-in Ribeye, a true bonus and joy to eat.

I felt a bit like a caveman, and it was the first time ever I finished an entire plate, just keeping the bone for takeaway.

I also had the Spiced Tipsy Tart (R62), and while I was too full to finish it, everything worked together in perfect unison on the plate.

Our cocktails weren’t bad, but nothing to write home about either (or here, I guess). The main factor is that wonderful, incredible steak cooked to a perfect Medium (as per my request), leaving absolutely nothing to be desired!

Hello! It’s Me Review Verdict

We had a great time at Hello! It’s Me, and the food blew me away. The bone-in Ribeye was one of the best pieces of meat I’ve ever consumed, and the pudding wasn’t bad either. Those zucchini fries really brought the plate together so beautifully and tasted much better than anticipated.
